Use the site’s contact channel only for a broken link, an accessibility concern, a correction to our explanatory copy, or a privacy question about a message sent to us. Current Jail and Bookings
The Union County Sheriff’s Office operates the county jail and publishes the official Citizen Connect tools. For current custody, booking, jail-log, or sheriff-held record questions, contact:
Union County Sheriff’s Office250 American Road
El Dorado, AR 71730
Office: (870) 864-1970
Dispatch: (870) 864-1990
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Email: cphillips@unioncountysheriff.net
The public jail reference also lists (870) 864-1987 for detention-center information, while the official portal uses the main office number. Verify which line handles the request before calling.
Police and Court Records
An arrest report made by El Dorado, Smackover, or Norphlet police may remain with that police department, while the booking record is held by the sheriff. Court filings and the final disposition belong to the court system. Start with the arresting agency shown on the booking entry, then contact the Union County Circuit Clerk for filed case records. Search ARCourts is the state’s public case-search route.
Other Custody Systems
County jail staff cannot confirm every state, federal, or immigration placement. Use the Arkansas Division of Correction inmate search for a person sentenced into state custody. The Federal Bureau of Prisons locator covers federal inmates, and VINELink can provide participating custody status and notifications. Each service controls its own data and update schedule.
Emergency and Safety Calls
Call 911 for an emergency. For a non-emergency sheriff matter, use the published dispatch or office line. Do not use a website message to report an immediate threat, submit a tip that needs prompt attention, or approach a person shown on a wanted notice.
